Friday and accommodation
In NSUT it’s not just about the games so NSUT XX weekend starts already on Friday. There’s a welcoming party in Fontana & El Gringo and some people have come also for the 20th anniversary gala of Waasan WetoWoima. Recovered plays popular cover rock songs on stage in Fontana! Free entry to Fontana is included in the team fee. Fontana is located at the market square (Hovioikeudenpuistikko 15).
The floor accommodation is in the old Åbo Akademie building. The address is Kirkkopuistikko 12-14. It’s not the same building as last year but the one next it. The entrance is from the side of Kirjastonkatu. The building opens at 21.00 on Friday and at 16.30 on Saturday. On Saturday and Sunday morning the building will be closed at 10.00.
The building has three floors and many rooms. There will 1-2 teams per room. There is silence in the upper floors. The noisy party people should stay in the first floor! Remember to bring your own mattress etc. to sleep on! There are many toilets, but no showers so wash up at Botnia Hall after the games!
The rules in the accommodation building are simple: if you damage anything, you pay for everything. If you make a mess (vomit on the floor etc.) you have to pay 50 euros!
Tournament passes
Each player will be given a tournament pass. Keep it safe, because it’s your ticket to the Saturday party, RAX meal and breakfast package! You can also get a BigMac meal for 4,90 ? by showing the pass in McDonalds in Vaasa!
Tournament passes are distributed at the accommodation school on Friday (21.00-24.00) and at the tournament office at Botnia Hall on Saturday. All passes are given to one person in each team who will distribute them to his/her team mates. The only exception is if you arrive earlier than others in your team.
Bus transportation
The busses to Botnia Hall leave from the accommodation school on Saturday and Sunday at 9.00, 9.35 and 10.10. The busses also quickly stop in front of Radisson SAS hotel. IMPORTANT: Those who play at 10:00 take the 9 o’clock busses, those who play at 10:30 take the 9.35 busses and the rest take the 10.10 busses.
On Saturday, the busses back to the city leave from Botnia Hall every 15 minutes starting at 16.15. The last busses leave at 18.15. On Sunday, the busses leave after the prize ceremony at about 15.00 and 15.30.
Games & Botnia Hall
The games start ALWAYS at even hours and half hours! Remember to have a look at the tournament rules.
Shoes: the ground is artificial grass in Botnia Hall and it’s best to play with cleats (football shoes or similar) there. Team shirts: teams should have game shirts of the same color! Numbers are not necessary. If possible, bring two different shirts in case the opponents wear the same color.
The tournament office is located next to pitch number 1. Visit the office if you need to contact the NSUT staff. The scoreboard is at the notice board near the entrance to the hall. In NSUT shop you can buy discs, clothing and other NSUT merchandise! The shop is located near the tournament office.
If you are hungry, you can try the café at Botnia Hall or the nearby gasoline station. It is NOT allowed to drink alcohol in the hall, but you can buy drinks in the Botnia hall café.
REMEMBER TO SHOWER at Botnia Hall, because there are no showers in the floor accommodation building!
